channel 9: 821.9000
channel 10: 867.1125
channel 11: 822.1125
channel 12: 867.1750
channel 13: 822.1750
channel 14: 867.9000
channel 15: 822.9000
channel 16: 868.6500
channel 17: 823.6500
channel 18: 868.9875 - fireground...very low power.
channel 19: 868.9500 - fireground...very low power.
channel 20: 868.9250 - fireground...very low power.
fireground power is approximately 1/2 mile or so.
you need to be in close range to pickup voices clearly.
otherwise, may hear static and breakups.
obsticles will shorten the range of power to even
approx. 1 block vicinity.
on the pro-92 scanner, setup channel 6 as the priority
channel with 866.8375, and setup the (TUNE) button
with 866.1875. while scanning, you can hop back and
forth by pushing the TUNE button, and the PRIORITY
button. use these 2 buttons whenever you suspect
a voice message will be there. after hearing a message,
you will have to judge wheather or not a return message will reply on the same frequency, or immediately go back to scanning. you will never hear all the conversation as all city departments share the same
frequencies, probably except the firegrounds. but if your
fast enough with manually changing the channels, you
can pick up most of the conversation. police and fire depts. are the easiest to monitor. you get to know the
voices and the style of communications in those depts.
besides, these 2 are the most interested. the old fire
dept. radio system has frequencies that still may be
used in the event of a (MUTUAL AID), if needed. and,
the old fire dept. radio system is available if the trunked
system goes down.
