Dense Fog Advisory Statement as of 7:29 PM EDT on October 4, 2005 ... Dense fog advisory in effect from 2 am to 9 am EDT Wednesday... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a dense fog advisory... which is in effect from 2 am to 9 am EDT Wednesday.
A light onshore flow will continue to increase the moisture content of the lower levels of the atmosphere. This will result in the redevelopment of low clouds and fog along the coast shortly after sunset. As the evening progresses the low clouds and fog will slowly spread inland. The fog is expected to become dense after midnight... and will likely persist until after daybreak Wednesday morning.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down... use your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
