Special Weather Statement Statement as of 5:54 am EDT on June 28, 2005
... Potential for heavy rain and localized flooding through most of the week...
A weak subtropical low responsible for the bands of heavy rain yesterday into this morning will track north of the area this afternoon. Although this system will dissipate... the tropical airmass over our region will remain. This will provide the moisture for more areas of heavy rain through much of the week.
After the rain showers exit this morning... scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon. The coverage and intensity of these showers will increase on Wednesday and possibly into Thursday. Any showers and thunderstorms that develop have the potential to produce torrential rainfall. This rainfall on top of already saturated ground could result in some localized flooding... especially in poor drainage and low lying areas.
Your National Weather Service suggests that you pay attention to future forecasts and statements. If you will be on the Road over the next few days... remember to be on the lookout for sudden downpours which may cause localized flooding.

... Potential for heavy rain and localized flooding through most of the week...
A tropical moisture feed... from the Gulf of Mexico... will remain into the area in the wake of a sub tropical low that brought heavy rains to the region early Tuesday morning. This will provide the moisture for more areas of heavy rain through much of the week.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected for the next several days. The coverage and intensity of these showers will increase on Wednesday and possibly into Thursday. Any showers and thunderstorms that develop have the potential to produce torrential rainfall. This rainfall on top of already saturated ground could result in some localized flooding... especially in poor drainage and low lying areas.
